One mountain town, two mountain girls, with a mutual love for trails, races, sweat & exhilaration. Thus was born Fernie's First Annual Mountain Duathlon in 2010, encompassing all that and then some. Tears & Gears for example.
Designed to test the abilities, determination and strength of participants, while also celebrating the amazing terrain and trails available in Fernie, not to mention adding to the already impressive array of biking and running events held in this town August through October.
After two successful years, 2012 is set to see some 'Enduro' sized changes in the works. For those of you who like it how it is, stick with T&G Classic Duathlon, for those who are looking for more of a challenge, get yourself ready for NEW! T&G Enduro, which you can just run, just bike, race as a team or grind it out solo. More options, more mileage and more tears & gears.
More details coming soon and registration will open on www.zone4.ca in the new year, but In the meantime, mark a spot in your diary Saturday September 15th 2012. This year we've moved the date to a week later due to in-town race clashes and to a Saturday - perfect for all you out of towners, who now get to enjoy the post-race party!
It could be wet, hot, muddy or all three, but whatever the weather, it's going to be better than ever.
